Identify the product
Provide the required alloy, product code, chemistry or coating-system designation. Include the governing material specification and revision. Similar product descriptions do not establish equivalence.
Match the receiving process
Identify the process your team will use, such as thermal spray, weld hardfacing or epoxy application. Include the material requirements of your equipment or approved procedure. Process information defines the feedstock request.
Record the operating conditions
Where relevant to product selection, state the substrate, temperature, wear, chemical exposure and immersion conditions. Confirm the exact product against your application requirements and its current technical documentation.
Specify the supplied form
For powder, state the particle size and other specified characteristics. For wire or rods, state diameter and packaging. For epoxies, identify the complete product system, kit size and any specified companion materials.
Define the purchase
Include the required quantity, packaging, delivery destination and requested delivery date. List the technical data sheet, safety data sheet and any lot documentation required for the materials order.
