JAS Additive Alloys

Market Leader in Small-Batch Production

Engineered specifically for Additive Manufacturing, JAS additive alloys provide consistent flowability and high packing density.  We're ready to deliver small lots for prototyping and testing or tens of thousands of pounds each month for scaled manufacturing or re-sale.  Either way,
JAS delivers on time, every time.

Consistency You Can Count On

Additive Manufacturing Alloys

JAS has been designing alloys for additive manufacturing since 2006.  That experience has taught us a few things, first, AM is not the same as Thermal Spray.  Additive powders must be pure, fully dense, highly spherical and have extraordinarily consistent morphology.  If an alloy powder doesn't meet these criteria, AM can sometimes feel more like an engineered art than a science. Clients often express frustration over using a meticulously constructed printing processes only to experience inconsistent results.

Our answer: Check the powder, even the slightest deviation will skew results significantly. At JAS, we don’t deviate from spec, even with the narrowest chemistry and sizing constraints.

  • Superior Morphology, optimizing flow rates
  • High Purity, due to inert environment manufacturing
  • Exacting Chemical Composition
  • Optimal Density, for your application
  • Consistent Deposition
  • Remarkable Packing Density

With JAS, you’ll get AM Powders you can count on for consistent results

Private Label Alloys
for Additive

We all want to offer our customers the best experience with our products and services as possible while capturing maximum wallet share.  To do this we build branded ecosystems that help keep us engaged.  Our Private Label Alloys for Additive provides AM equipment manufactures the opportunity to supply their customers with some of the highest quality metal powders available on the market, branded as their own.  We'll help you develop parameters for your equipment as well as design an exclusive suite of alloys specific to your customer's needs.    We also have a wide variety of high-performance production alloys engineered for Additive Manufacturing.

The JAS Private Label program allows you to focus on what you do best while providing your customers a better, more holistic experience through supplying world class alloy powders.

JAS Layered Alloys
For AM

Constructed through a patented process of coating a base particle with other elements, JAS Layered Alloys are designed to specifically address challenges unique to the Additive Manufacturing process.

JAS Layered Alloys for AM exhibit exceptional mechanical properties

  • 25% higher tensile strength at 800°C
  • Reduction in alloy vaporization
  • Controlled galvanic reaction
  • Reduction in oxidization

Base Particle Materials:

  • Metal
  • Ceramic
  • Diamond
  • Polymer

Outer Layers Protect Base Particle from:

  • Vaporization
  • Corrosion
  • Galvanization

Magnesium (Mg) for example, has both low melting and boiling points and high vapor pressure creating an impossible challenge for Additive Manufacturing.  Alloys like Al12Mg17 and Al6061, which posses incredible corrosion resistant properties, have been disregarded by the AM industry.  By coating Mg with layers of high melting point nanoparticles (such as Si and W) however, we can change how the alloy reacts to various AM processes. Partial melting of surface particles produces radiation heat that will melt Mg.   Rapid cooling produces a finished part with a fine uniform microstructure.
